Sketchbook

I’ve recently started sketching when I’m out. I’ve taken to walking to the trees or an open space, sitting down, taking in my surroundings and nibbling raisins. Then I’ll take out my sketchbook and draw a tree or whatever else takes my fancy. I’m thoroughly enjoying this: both observing and appreciating my environment and the drawing itself. Now I’m trying watercolours. I’ll update this post with my sketches and photos as I go.

The turtles were sunning it up in the pond in the National Garden this morning, while a lone pigeon circumnavigated and a dusky grey dragonfly insisted on getting in on the picture. (but wouldn’t let me photograph it!
