Tedx Rubbish Puppets

Get me going and I have a lot to say about rubbish and puppets, but getting me to present my views and ideas on stage to an audience of 200 – well that’s a different matter. I can’t remember being so nervous, but it had to be done!

One thing I’ve discovered about puppets, is it’s so much easier to perform publicly from behind a screen or when the audience’s attention is on the puppet, not the puppeteer. To stand up on stage was an achievement.

Luckily I had my mum with me! I made the puppet of my mum whilst visiting her last winter in the Orkney Isles, where she was a resident in a fantastic little care home until she passed away in the spring.
