Uncle John
Life for John began on a remote island in Orkney. Pieced together from the scraps of felt, fur fabric and buttons I found tucked away in my mum’s sewing box. Raised on a dietĀ of teddy bear stuffing and barely a puppet, he lolloped off into the garden on a single nylon thread without a care in the world…
Later in life he appeared in ‘Plasma Scream’ an incredible Faraday cage experience performed at CADS Creative Space in Sheffield
My sister Sarah took pity upon his threadbare pullover (made from one of my socks) and knitted him a dapper chequered tank top. This led him in a new direction; as a model for the Friends of Burngreave Chapel Apple Day publicity – which also featured one of Sarah’s knitted mice!
