Light Up Abbeyfield Park

As an alternative to the more conventional celebrations on Bonfire Night, we had an evening of shadow puppets and lanterns in the park with the finest Ukrainian food at Abbeyfield House. Another excellent community arts collaboration with Jo Veal, and Evelyn Albrow running the shadow puppet making. Made possible thanks to funding from the Dark Nights Grant Funding (North East LAC/Ward Pot) and the Friends of Abbeyfield Park (FOAP).

A fantastic opportunity to release the Big Fish we’d recently made for the Parkwood Springs Community Lantern Procession in October. A mighty 7 metre long, articulated lantern with opening sides, revealing a large shadow screen. What a sight! What a delight…
